Team Power Rankings

Week 2

1. IceMen (Last Week: 1)

Different week, same story. The IceMen have exploded out of the gates, and week 2 was even more dominant than week 1. Facing a Greenies team that impressed in week 1, the IceMen absolutely pounded The Greenies and fastened the crown on their metaphorical heads a little bit tigher than it had ever been before. This sessions championship goes through them.

2.) Barely Legal (Last Week: 2)

Though Barely Legal wasn't overly impressive in Week 1 'Barely' beating Grit N Balls. They rebounded in Week 2, to beat down ANDThree by 20. If IceMen is #1, Barely Legal is nipping at their heels at # 2.

3.) Select Hoops (Last Week: 5)

I'm starting to drink the Koolaid. This might be a team that I underestimated. Their Week 1 60 point win was one thing, but then to turn around and put up 86 more points in Week 2. An 86 points that included 13 threes and several thunderous dunks. This team could very well be for real. We'll find out more in the coming weeks, but this team is loaded with Talent.

4.) Toon Squad (Last Week: 3)

After a dominating Week 1 Toon Squad was impressive again in Week 2, dominating Grit and Balls from Start to finish, and winning 74-63. They are young, can get up and down the floor as good as anyone, and I definitely see them being a tough team to beat all Summer long.

5.) Team OFF (Last Week: 4)

They are 2-0, but have squeaked by both teams they have beaten. (Neither one of them have a win) This team may be even placed a little high at # 5. They may look better on paper than they do on the court, but time will tell. I can't stress enough how good they look on paper though, Harrison and Forbes are as good as it gets, will it be enough to compete in a very young and talented league.. stay tuned.

6.) Average at Best (Last Week: 8)

Average at Best saw 0-2 flash before their eyes last night against Attleboro, but due to some late game heroics from Ryan Sheehan and Derek Retos. They sit on Wednesday morning at 1-1 and up two slots in the Power Rankings. The jury is still out on this team, as they may be another team that looks good on the scoresheet before the game starts, but haven't been overly impressive post jump ball. One has to wonder if Average at Best, is perhaps more than just a team name.

7.) Attleboro (Last Week: 7)

Attleboro stays put at # 7 on our Power Rankings, after falling in a heart breaker to Average at Best Attleboro just missed a chance to start off 2-0 in one of the deepest Men's League of all time at MPC. They will again have a chance to make a name for themselves next week when they meet #3 Select Hoops.

8.) Grit and Balls (Last Week: 10)

Grit and Balls is up two spots this week, as they have now lost both of their games, but to two of the top 4 teams in the session. They are a team that I think many are underestimating. Here is a fair warning, DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS TEAM. There.. I said my peace.

9.) AndThree- (Last Week: 9)

AndThree hangs tight at # 9 despite a 20 point loss to Barely Legal. Anthony Barry is a top tier scorer, and this is a very balanced group. It's hard to hold a 20 point loss to Barely Legal against anyone, and I can't wait to see what this team does in the upcoming games.

10.) Salve (Last Week: (NR)

Salve after a tough week 1 OT loss, was MUCH more impressive in week 2 falling by Team OFF by just 4 points. Onlookers suggest that this team may have had a little bit of nerves going in Week 1, and is better than that performance may have suggested. This may be a team trending up very very soon.
