Team Power Rankings

Week 5

1. Select Hoops (Last Week: 2)

There are some new sheriffs in town this week, as Select Hoops settles into the throne of #1 for the first time here after Week 5. They are the last remaining A League unbeaten, and they did so this week in impressive fashion to say the least. Their 54 point victory over AndThree proved that if you aren't careful, they will absolutely dismantle you. With Brad Lucke, Tommy Garrick, Corey, and Alex DaLuz this is a team that has more than enough weapons to win a title this Summer, and for my money they may be the new favorite.

2. Barely Legal (Last Week: 1)

Okay, I get it, they lost to Willy's Local Foods this week, but this was not the Barely Legal roster that we were used to seeing take the court, and that is why the fall is minimal for now. When this team is all present and accounted for, they are going to be a hell of a tough team to defeat. A loss is a loss though, and that's why they slide down to #2 on our list with a 4-1 record.

3. Toon Squad (Last Week: 3)

Toon Squad hangs tight at # 3 this week after a hard fought win over the now 2-3 IceMen. On paper this team is as tough as nails to play against, with stars like Rocky DeAndrade and Mike Lofton, I won't be betting against them too much this Summer. They are going to have to earn their stripes in the upcoming weeks playing against some of the leagues heavy hitters, but so far so good for the Tunesters.

4. Team OFF (Last Week: 4)

Another week and another nailbiter from Team OFF camp, this week unlike last they came out on the right end of the final score nipping Average at Best by 1. Don't read too much into it, as both squads were depleted in numbers due to the Jay Z and Beyonce concert, but they earned a W and as far as our #4 and 5 spots go, that's what counts for this week.

5. Average at Best (Last Week: 5)

Another team staying put this week is Average at Best who hold down the #5 spot for the second straight week. Though short handed on Tuesday they almost pulled out their 4th win in a row, only to fall by 1 to team OFF. Ryan Sheehan is one of the best players in the league and continues to impress, I wouldn't be surprised to see this team make a move or two before it's all said and done.

6. IceMen (Last Week: 6)

They've lost 3 straight, but let's not hit the panic button quite yet. This team is still good.. REALLY good. In a league of this caliber there isn't a whole lot of difference between 5-0 and 2-3, and the IceMen prove that. I wouldn't even bat an eyelash if they were posing with the Summer League trophy, as they did with the Spring League one just 2 months ago.

7. Attleboro (Last Week: 9)

Attleboro moves up two spots on our list this week after a really nice win over Salve. I like this team a lot and I think that if Conor Larkin continues to play at the level he currently is at, and the other pieces give him some help, this team is going to make a believer out of everyone else in this league.

8. Grit N Balls (Last Week: 8)

Grit N Balls is starting to come on strong. This past week they earned a victory over The Greenies. This team has a lot of guys who can play, and if they all prove that sentence at the same time. They will continue to win games just as they did in Week 5. Here's looking at you, GNB.

9. Salve (Last Week: 7)

Salve drops two spots on our list after the 17 point loss to Attleboro. Boggs and Mackinnon can definitely play, nobody is debating that, but this clubs consistency has been shaky at best, as made evidenced by the fact they have been all over our top 10. If they can steady the ship, they are still a talented enough group to make some noise.

10. Willy's Local Foods (Last Week: NR)

A win is a win is a win is a win, Willy's Local Foods were losers of their first 4, but this week they blew out a shorthanded Barely Legal to earn a spot on this list for the first time. Make no mistake about it, this team has some guys that can flat out ball. I wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't the only upset that they pull this Summer Session.
