Team Power Rankings

Week 3

1. Barely Legal (Last Week: 2)

They'reeeee baaaaaack. Barely Legal finds itself in a familiar spot on our list reclaiming the #1 spot due to a slip up from the IceMen. Their 11 point victory in week 3 over the Toon Squad proved that they are still one of, if not the most consistent performers.

2. Select Hoops (Last Week: 3)

Tom Garrick has established himself as an early MVP Candidate and he has Select Hoops playing as good of basketball as anyone in the early stages of the Summer Men's League. Can Select Hoops stay unbeaten next week when they tangle with #1 Barely Legal? Time will tell.

3. Team OFF (Last Week: 5)

Team OFF flirted with 100 points again last night pummeling Willy's Local Foods 95-80. Trent Forbes and David Harrision continue to be a 1-2 punch that is set to KO any team they come across. I don't see them losing any time soon.

4. IceMen (Last Week: 1)

The Champs were here.. and then they lost to an 0-2 AndThree club at that, sliding them down 3 spots to #4. Make no mistake about it, this is still going to be a very tough team to beat. Their history shows that they can beat anyone, anywhere, anytime. Last Night's loss may show that they are a little more vulnerable than we though, even with all the talent they have.

5. Toon Squad (Last Week: 4)

Toon Squad falls one spot this week to #5. Their 11 point loss to Barely Legal is respectable. This club fell behind 12-0 before waking up and making a game out of it. TS in stretches is arguably the best team in the session, but inconsistency plagued them last night. They will need to learn to put 40 minutes together if they have any hopes of moving this list.

6. Average at Best (Last Week: 6)

Average at Best holds steady at # 6 this week after an impressive win over The Greenies. For the first time, this club played up to their potential, with the emergence of Derek Retos who scored a game high 27 points. Retos showed that he could be more than the 'Robin' to Ryan Sheehan's 'Batman' and took the scoring into his own hands. The more these two are clicking at the same time, the better AAB is going to be moving forward.

7. And Three (Last Week: 9)

We called it last week that And Three's best games were ahead of them. I don't think anyone expected their first win to come at the hands of the 'Champs' but last night their 66-60 triumph over the IceMen definitely turned some heads and opened some eyes. We will see if And Three can steadily climb this list in the weeks to come.

8. Salve (Last Week: 10)

They were close the first two weeks, and in the third week they finally got over the hump earning a 1 point victory over Grit N Balls. This is a team that seems focused on having ESPN (or MPC) Classics each and every week. I could see them moving up this list if they keep turning these close games into W's.

9. Attleboro (Last Week: 7)

Attleboro fell again last night to Select Hoops. This is a team to watch still, that has the athleticism and the toughness to play with just about any and all teams.

10. Grit N Balls (Last Week: 8)

This team is in the same boat as Salve, the only difference is Salve scored one more point than them in week 3. With Colin Feeney no showing for two straight weeks, Grit N Balls has yet to play their best basketball. Keep your eye on these former Joan Valenti disciples.
