Team Power Rankings

Week 6

1.) Select Hoops (Last Week: 1)

Things looked potentially grim for the reigning #1 team in the Men's League, but thanks to Alex Daluz taking a dip in the fountain of youth, he returned to his 2002 self to score 27 points and lead his team to a 7 point victory to stay undefeated and remain at the top of this list.

2.) Barely Legal (Last Week: 2)

If there has ever been a more daunting #2 on this list, I can't remember one. Barely Legal is nipping at Select Hoops heals to say the very least. With more of a roster to play with on Tuesday, Barely Legal returned to form with a 20 point blowout win over Attleboro. For as good as SH has been, this still may be the team to beat.

3.) Average at Best (Last Week: 5)

Average at Best hops up two spots on our list after a nice win over The Toon Squad in week 6. Ryan Sheehan and Derek Retos are a premier duo, and this team is finally getting the W's to back up all of their talent. Definitely a team to keep both eyes on going forward.

4.) Toon Squad ( Last Week: 3)

The Toon Squad slides back 1 spot to # 4 this week after a hard fought defeat at the hands of AAB. This team is still young, they fly up and down the court, and have scoring all over the place. I would never bet against them, but one of the reasons is, they are very unpredictable and inconsistent. Sometimes they look like the best team in the session, and other times they struggle. They will need to get rid of this Jekyl and Hyde identity if they have any hopes of hoisting the trophy in August.

5.) Team OFF (Last Week: 4)

Team OFF suffered their second loss of the season at the hands of Grit N Balls, but it came in the form of a forfeit. This team has barely squeaked out enough keys in previous weeks, and this week it came back to bite them. This is still a loaded crew, with some of the best players the league has to offer, that is not in question, whether they show up in time seems to be.

6.) IceMen (Last Week: 6)

Kyle Gibson was apparently sick of the bad press we had given his club over the past few weeks, as he seemingly took it upon himself to make sure that we weren't writing about a 4th straight loss. Gibson's 34 helped IceMen get back to .500 and stay securely placed in this number 6 spot. A couple of more games like this for him, and this team will be moving back up to the upper part of this list.

7.) Attleboro (Last Week: 7)

An 80-60 loss in week 6 to Barely legal doesn't move Attleboro up or down this week. This is a talented group, but  when they get up against the big dogs of the league things don't usually go their way. They stay at 7 for now, but if this trend of not being able to compete with the upper echelon continues, they may be going down fast.

8.) Grit n Balls (Last Week: 8)

Hard to fault them for winning by forfeit, but considering it was against Team OFF, I'm sure GNB will take it. Look forward to seeing this team back in full game action in Week 7.

9.) Salve (Last Week: 9)

Continuing are trend of teams hanging tight in their spots is Salve. Though they lost a high scoring affair vs. the IceMen this team continues to impress me. They play perhaps the purest ball out of any team in the league, however they much like Attleboro struggle against some of the leagues power players. I am still waiting for them to get a statement win, I guess I will have to wait at least another week.

10.) Willy's Local Foods (Last Week: 10)

Willy's rounds out the list for the second straight week after picking up a 2nd straight W. I like this team they are fundamentally sound and compete hard. Though the 0-4 start wasn't ideal, don't be surprised to see this team start reeling off W's.
